On January 13, 2026, CrowdStrike (NASDAQ: CRWD) announced its definitive agreement to acquire Seraphic Security, a leader in browser runtime protection. This acquisition marks a pivotal shift in cybersecurity, as CrowdStrike integrates Seraphic’s "in-session" security into the Falcon® platform to protect the modern, browser-based enterprise.

The Problem: The Browser as a Cybersecurity Blind Spot 

The browser is now the "operating system" of the enterprise, with 85% of the workday spent inside a tab. Despite this, it remains a critical blind spot. Legacy security models often rely on high-latency network routing or proprietary "walled garden" browsers that frustrate users and kill productivity. These outdated solutions struggle to stop sophisticated session hijacking and the rising threat of "shadow AI."

As we looked across the market, it was clear that a solution capable of securing any browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox) without forcing a change in user behavior would be a category-definer.
