Sam Westmore

Sam  joined the Storm Ventures’ operations team as an executive assistant in July 2021. She works on a broad range of marketing, design, and content projects. Prior to Storm Ventures, Sam gained extensive experience in a variety of administrative and management roles in multiple  industries including commercial real estate, media publishing and the arts.

Sam holds a bachelor’s degree in Literary Studies & Photography  from The New School in Manhattan.

Minjoo Kim

Minjoo Kim recently joined Storm Ventures. Prior to joining Storm, she was a consultant at BCG (Boston Consulting Group) Seoul office, conducting projects covering various B2B industries with new business development and GTM strategy topics.

She also worked as a Marketing and Sales Specialist at Dow/DuPont, a global chemical company. She was in charge of global business strategy development and implementation in the display material industry.

Minjoo holds her B.S. in Chemical & Bio-molecular Engineering from KAIST and M.S. in Business Administration from Seoul National University.

Yoon Kim

Yoon recently joined the Storm Ventures team as Venture Partner to help Korean startups to succeed in global market. Previously, he served 29 years at KAIST as Professor of Physics, Vice President of Research and the founding Director of the Institute for Startup KAIST (ISK). ISK’s mission is to commercialize basic research results by nurturing startups and creating a startup ecosystem. ISK had produced more than 30 startups during the first 5 years. He also served as Chairman of KAIST Venture Investment Holdings. Prior to KAIST, he was an Assistant Professor at Stanford University where he earned his Ph.D. Yoon has his personal entrepreneurship experiences as a founder of FiberPro and Novera Optics in Korea and Silicon Valley based on his lab’s research in fiber optics.

Sanjay Subhedar

Sanjay is a founding Managing Director of Storm Ventures. Sanjay enjoys working with entrepreneurs to help them achieve their dreams. Sanjay’s current focus is mobile and SaaS.

Sanjay also serves on the Board of Trustees of Palo Alto Medical Foundation, was on the Board of Directors of The Indiana University Foundation and is on the Governing Board of the Indian School of Business, and the board of Filoli. Sanjay earned a B.S. from the University of Bombay, India and an M.B.A. from Indiana University. He was born in Mumbai, India.

Jacco Vanderkooij

Jacco is the founder of Winning By Design, a firm that designs, builds and scales modern sales organizations.  Storm Ventures has contracted Jacco as Sales Mentor to accelerate the development of sales teams across their emerging SaaS and Mobile company portfolio.

The best practices developed by Winning By Design are being regarded as the emerging gold standard for SaaS teams.

In his personal life, Jacco loves to spend time with his family. He is a former triathlete who represented the Netherlands at 2 World Championships, a sailor who won the coveted Farallon Island race, and builder of a backyard pirate ship.

Tae Hea Nahm

Tae Hea is co-founding Managing Director of Storm Ventures and co-author of Survival To Thrival. Survival to Thrival is a mind-meld of a 3x entrepreneur (Bob Tinker) and a VC/board member (TH Nahm), and other enterprise entrepreneurs, which demystifies building enterprise startups. Tae Hea presents a 4-step path to unlocking growth in GTMFit.com.

Tae Hea was the founding CEO of Airespace, later sold to Cisco for $450m.  Currently, he is interested in “AI + SaaS” companies. He enjoys playing Civilization in his free time and was born in Seoul, Korea.

Arun Penmetsa

Arun Penmetsa is a Partner at Storm Ventures and focuses on early stage Enterprise software companies, primarily in SaaS, Security and Digital Health startups. He has extensive experience building enterprise software solutions at Oracle and Google. Arun is passionate about healthcare and using technology to improve outcomes and drive efficiency for patients, providers and payers. He is also an investor in several healthcare groups in India where he serves as an advisor on technology and population health. In his spare time, Arun enjoys spending time with family and hiking.

Kevin Melia

Kevin joined Storm Ventures in 2002 as a junior member of the investment team. In that role he worked with several Storm portfolio companies including Airespace (acquired by Cisco), Berkana Wireless (acquired by Qualcomm), and IML (Taiwan IPO). Since 2006, Kevin has led the finance and administration functions at Storm.

Kevin began his career as a development engineer creating new fiber optic products for Raychem. He initially began at the company’s Menlo Park headquarters before transferring to Leuven, Belgium for two years.

Kevin is currently a volunteer mentor with MIT’s Venture Mentoring Service and serves on the Board of Directors of the Los Altos Educational Foundation.

Alex Mendez

Alex is a founding Managing Director of Storm Ventures, an early stage venture fund focused on Mobile, SaaS and Cloud. He thinks that the transformation of IT from vertical stove pipes to horizontal utilities is creating massive disruption and unprecedented opportunities for value creation over the next couple of decades.

He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and speaks both Spanish and German fluently. He is an avid pilot, golfer and skier, and enjoys traveling.
