Ryan is a founding Managing Director of Storm Ventures. At Storm Ventures, Ryan focuses on early stage enterprise SaaS and has primarily invested in applications (AtScale, Crowd Factory/Acquired by Marketo, Digital Shadows, Gather, Guidespark, Litbit, Splashtop) and cloud/infrastructure related companies (Appcelerator/Acquired by Axway, Hubpages, Kidaro/Acquired by Microsoft, Nubeliu, Metacloud/Acquired by Cisco, Sandforce/Acquired by LSI and Swiftstack).

Prior to founding Storm Ventures in 2000, Ryan directed the business development activities at E-TEK Dynamics, an optics company that went public in 1998 and ultimately merged with JDS Uniphase in 2000. Prior to joining E-TEK, Ryan was with Summit Partners, a private equity firm, where he focused primarily on IT, including Summit’s investment in E-TEK Dynamics in July 1997
Ryan is active and works with Code2040, a nonprofit organization that creates pathways to educational, professional, and entrepreneurial success in technology for underrepresented minorities.
Ryan received his B.S. and M.S. in Earth Systems from Stanford University.
